Mermaid Concepts

My attempt at redesigning the mermaid. I want to do an animation in the future involving a mermaid but the idea and image of a mermaid has been done so many times. I want my designs for the animation to look more fresh and original. 


Luckily, there are many kinds of fish in the sea. So I looked up a bunch and started trying making them into mermaids. This is the first batch what I came up with.

From left to right and top to bottom: Shrimp Mermaid, Squid Mermaid (my version of a sea witch) Jellyfish Mermaid, Koi Mermaid, Eel Mermaid, Flying Fish Mermaid, Normal Mermaid, Narwhale Mermaid, Fantail Goldfish Mermaid, Seahorse Mermaid, and Angler Fish Mermaid.
